SSBM Geneva Marks World Sustainability Day with Interactive Quiz

In honor of World Sustainability Day, the Swiss School of Business and Management Geneva (SSBM Geneva) brought together its students and staff for an engaging and educational video focused on sustainability. This initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to raising awareness about critical environmental issues while fostering a culture of sustainability within the community.

The video, which is both fun and informative, features students and staff answering a series of sustainability-related questions, highlighting simple yet effective ways to make a positive impact on the environment. The questions posed in the reel not only sparked thoughtful discussions but also provided practical tips on how everyone can contribute to a greener future.

Tackling the Big Questions

To get the conversation going, the SSBM Geneva team asked participants to weigh in on some common sustainability challenges, such as:

• Which activity saves the most water? This question encouraged students to reflect on daily habits that can significantly reduce water consumption, from turning off the tap while brushing teeth to opting for shorter showers.
• How long can a plastic straw last in the ocean? Many were surprised to learn just how long it takes for plastic straws to degrade—raising awareness of the lasting impact that single-use plastics have on marine life and the environment.
• What’s the best way to save energy when you’re not using electronics? Participants shared insights on simple energy-saving strategies, such as unplugging devices, using energy-efficient appliances, and making the switch to renewable energy sources where possible.
