formal education, professional experience, or life learning. The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
and Credit Transfer provide a structured framework for assessing, granting, and applying
previously gained competencies toward a chosen course of study. This policy ensures that students

Gamification of Learning

At SSBM Geneva, the learning experience is continuously enhanced through innovative approaches, and the introduction of a Fully Gamified Student Information System (SIS) exemplifies this commitment. This initiative has been designed to increase student engagement and motivation by incorporating game-like elements into the SIS, transforming routine academic and administrative tasks into more enjoyable and rewarding activities for students, faculty, and administrators.

workshop

The gamification of SIS

  • Points

Points are automatically recalculated with each login to the SIS platform, taking into account factors such as study progress, financial health, study duration, and other relevant risk factors. Points will either be gained or lost accordingly.

  • Badges

Virtual badges are assigned based on the number of points earned. These badges serve as recognition of students’ achievements and progress.

  • Status

Students are classified into one of four categories—Rising Star, Top Performer, Champion, or Top Leader—depending on their points and overall performance.

By accumulating points, students will have the opportunity to unlock rewards in the Game Shop, with each reward requiring a specific number of points to be redeemed. Additionally, certificates of achievement can be
printed, and students can track their progress on the Monsters League or Leaderboard.

This gamified approach has been integrated into SIS to encourage positive behaviour, support personal growth, and make the academic journey more engaging, thereby contributing to an enriched and motivating learning environment.
