At the Swiss School of Business and Management Geneva, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our Year 1 Bachelor students recently participated in an exciting Company Project class held on campus in Geneva.
Under the expert guidance of Professors Dr. Olesya Meskina, Hulya Kurt, and Dean, Dr. Amira Simcox, students had the unique opportunity to tackle hypothetical but realistic business challenges for some of the world’s leading companies: Amazon, Tesla, Nike, Netflix, McDonald’s, and Starbucks.
A Practical Approach to Problem-Solving
The assignment required students to assume the roles of corporate strategists, tasked with identifying and resolving issues faced by these global giants. While the problems were fictional, they were crafted to mirror real-world complexities, allowing students to engage in critical thinking, strategic planning, and innovative solution development.
Collaboration and Creativity in Action
Working in teams, students delved into industry-specific challenges such as:
The teams presented their recommendations in front of their peers and professors, showcasing their ability to analyze, adapt, and articulate actionable solutions.
Building Skills for Future Success
This project exemplifies the SSBM Geneva philosophy of blending academic theory with hands-on experience. Through this class, students honed essential skills such as teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking – preparing them to tackle real-world challenges in their future careers.
The Company Project class underscores the value of experiential learning in shaping the leaders of tomorrow. By simulating real-world scenarios, SSBM Geneva ensures its students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to thrive in a competitive global business environment.
We applaud our Year 1 Bachelor students for their outstanding efforts and thank Professors Dr. Meskina, Kurt, and Dr. Simcox for making this learning experience an unforgettable milestone.
