At the Swiss School of Business and Management Geneva (SSBM), we are beyond proud to share the inspiring achievements of our student, Matilde Schwencke. Matilde, an online Bachelor’s student, represented both SSBM and Chile at the prestigious Torino 2025 University Games, showcasing the strength, resilience, and dedication that define her character.
Matilde’s words say it all:
“Competing in the Torino 2025 University Games was an incredible experience. Representing both SSBM and Chile at such a prestigious and historic event was truly special. International competitions like the UNI Games are unique opportunities, and being part of them felt like a milestone in my journey as an athlete. Coming back from my ACL injury this season was a major challenge, and setting the UNI Games as a goal made it even more meaningful. Being able to compete at 100% after months of preparation was a huge personal achievement.”
Matilde’s journey wasn’t just about competing, it was about personal growth. She continues,
“Beyond the competition, the event was an amazing cultural and athletic exchange. I had the chance to meet student-athletes from all over the world, each balancing their academic and athletic careers with passion and dedication. This dual commitment is rare in alpine skiing, and connecting with others who share this path was incredibly inspiring.“
The experience left a lasting impression on Matilde:
“The scale of the event – from the facilities to the opening and closing ceremonies – was remarkable, creating an atmosphere that truly felt like an Olympic experience. Sharing accommodations with athletes from different sports and backgrounds made it even more special, as we were all united by the same drive and motivation.”
Representing SSBM at such a special event was an honor for Matilde:
Having the opportunity to represent SSBM on this stage and contribute to making history for the university was an honor. I hope my experience can inspire other athletes to join the program and pursue both their academic and athletic careers at the highest level.
