At Multi-disciplinary International Research Center (MIRC) by SSBM Geneva, we are dedicated to harnessing the untapped potential of individuals with visual impairments. Many have experienced sight loss due to conditions such as amblyopia, retinitis pigmentosa, glaucoma, macular degeneration, or accidents. Our alumni and mentor, Dr. Sagar Bansal, has experienced firsthand the challenges of visual impairment, and through his leadership, we aim to empower others facing similar difficulties. Despite these challenges, individuals with visual impairments possess a deep understanding of the world and its concepts. Our mission is to enable them – many of whom retain some level of vision—to lead fulfilling, productive lives and contribute meaningfully to the global economy.
Our Vision and Commitment
We are undertaking groundbreaking research aimed at:
Unlocking Economic Potential: Exploring innovative ways for visually impaired individuals to add value to the global economy.
Facilitating Rehabilitation: Developing methods, techniques, and products to support their seamless rehabilitation, enabling them to return to work and lead healthier lives.
Fostering Inclusion: Creating an ecosystem where disability is not a barrier but a source of unique insight and capability.
