Dr. Yeliz Ekinci is an Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering in the Management Information Systems Department at Istanbul Bilgi University, Turkey. Her expertise is based on operations research and data mining applications in industry. Specifically, she has studies on business & marketing analytics, management information systems, production & operations management, and decision making topics. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. After receiving her Ph.D. degree, she worked as a post-doc researcher at H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.
Her refereed articles have appeared in a variety of top journals, books and in the proceedings of major international conferences. She has worked as an academic consultant and researcher in many university-industry collaboration projects which have been funded by various funding sources. Some of these funded projects are; prediction of possible problems in ERP systems, transport and urban development in Europe, developing marketing optimization models based on Customer Lifetime Value for banks and online departmental stores; optimizing fire station locations for cities, development of product recommendation systems for e-commerce companies, ATM and branch cash optimization for banks, etc. She has advised many students for their graduate theses.
